On A Wine Of Horace's Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GBGBAA

What time I read your mighty lineA
O Mr Q Horatius FlaccusB
In praise of many an ancient wineA
You twanged a wickid lyric to BacchusB
I wondered like a Yankee hickC
If that old stuff contained a kickC
-
So when upon a Paris cardD
I glimpsed a Falernian I said WaiterE
I'll emulate that ancient bardD
And pass upon his merits laterE
Professor Mendell quelque sportF
Suggested that we split a quartF
-
O Flaccus ere I ceased to drinkG
Three glasses and a pair of highballsB
I could not talk I could not thinkG
For I was pickled to the eyeballsB
If you sopped up Falernian wineA
How did you ever write a lineA
