Venus the cruel mother ofC
The Cupids symbolising LoveC

I give this Glycera girl a lotE
Pure Parian marble are her armsF
And she has eighty other charmsF

Venus has left her Cyprus homeB
And will not let me pull a pomeB
About the Parthians fierce and roughG
The Scythian war and all that stuffG

Set up O slaves a verdant shrineH
Uncork a quart of last year's wineH
Place incense here and here verbenasF
And watch me while I jolly VenusF
