Ode In Honour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDC EFGHHHHHHH IIJKLMHNO PHHHH

Evening is part of the jig saw truth of herA
ply wood ply flesh her insolent replyB
blinding the ace with a straight shot to centreA
the woman's a delicate devil in twenty placesC
blander and blonder tinder tenderlyD
setting the smiles on fire in men's facesC
-
On any evening gets you ready for darkE
swathes and saves you for the magic carpetF
spirits you anywhere anytime anyhowG
over the bridges the tunnels the hills the foothillsH
the pools lakes oceans cataracts crystal floesH
the mountains and fountains the antique windows of spaceH
the deserts orchards vineyards milky waysH
over pontoons and the silting tracks of moonsH
over the decks and the docks where the clocksH
chime anywhere anytime anyhow any fresh placeH
-
Anywhere where winds blow and babies growI
where poor men wait for money in a rowI
where magnates buy and sell your heaven and hellJ
anyhow whether the storm runs over the roofK
or hollow tooth aches or gangrene takes the soulL
anytime when the sun splutters and throws shrapnelM
between the legs of dead men and mad loversH
she will be there to hold you by the cuffN
to give you all her stock of luck or loveO
-
WithP
two round lips and two round eyesH
and two round ears and two round palmsH
and two round arms and two round thighsH
any child any girl any woman any surpriseH
