On The Infancy Of Our Savior Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEAAFFGGHHII

Hail blessed Virgin full of heavenly graceA
Blest above all that sprang from human raceA
Whose heaven saluted womb brought forth in oneB
A blessed Savior and a blessed SonB
O what a ravishment 't had been to seeC
Thy little Savior perking on thy kneeC
To see Him nuzzle in thy virgin breastD
His milk white body all unclad undressedD
To see thy busy fingers clothe and wrapE
His spraddling limbs in thy indulgent lapE
To see His desperate eyes with childish graceA
Smiling upon His smiling mother's faceA
And when His forward strength began to bloomF
To see Him diddle up and down the roomF
O who would think so sweet a Babe as thisG
Should ere be slain by a false hearted kissG
Had I a rag if sure Thy body wore itH
Pardon sweet Babe I think I should adore itH
Till then O grant this boon a boon far dearerI
The weed not being I may adore the WearerI
