Sir, We Would See Jesus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEE FFGGHHEE IIBBJJKK

We would see Jesus earth is grandA
Flowing out from her Creator's handA
Like one who tracks his steps with lightB
His footsteps ever greet our sightB
The earth below the sky aboveC
Are full of tokens of his love ''D
But 'mid the fairest scenes we've sighedE
Our hearts are still unsatisfiedE
-
We would see Jesus proud and highF
Temples and domes have met our eyeF
We've gazed upon the glorious thoughtG
By earnest hands in marble wroughtG
And listened where the flying feetH
Beat time to music soft and sweetH
But bow'rs of ease and halls of prideE
Our yearning hearts ne'er satisfiedE
-
We would see Jesus we have heardI
Tidings our inmost souls have stirredI
How from their chambers full of nightB
The darkened eyes receive the lightB
How at the music of his voiceJ
The lame do leap the dumb rejoiceJ
Anxious we'll wait until we've seenK
The good and gracious NazareneK
