The Coast: Norfolk Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFF

As on the highway's quiet edgeA
He mows the grass beside the hedgeA
The old man has for companyB
The distant grey salt smelling seaB
A poppied field a cow and calfC
The finches on the telegraphC
Across his faded back a honeD
He slowly slowly scythes aloneD
In silence of the wind soft airE
With ladies' bedstraw everywhereE
With whitened corn and tarry polesF
And far off gulls like risen soulsF
