Venice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFGFGHDIDJDJD JDJDJKJKLDLD

Night in her dark arrayA
Steals o'er the oceanB
And with departed dayA
Hushed seems its motionB
Slowly o'er yon blue coastC
Onward she's treadingD
'Till its dark line is lostE
'Neath her veil spreadingD
The bark on the rippling deepF
Hath found a pillowG
And the pale moonbeams sleepF
On the green billowG
Bound by her emerald zoneH
Venice is lyingD
And round her marble crownI
Night winds are sighingD
From the high lattice nowJ
Bright eyes are gleamingD
That seem on night's dark browJ
Brighter stars beamingD
Now o'er the bright laguneJ
Light barks are dancingD
And 'neath the silver moonJ
Swift oars are glancingD
Strains from the mandolinJ
Steal o'er the waterK
Echo replies betweenJ
To mirth and laughterK
O'er the wave seen afarL
Brilliantly shiningD
Gleams like a fallen starL
Venice recliningD
