Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DBDB

Yet once again but once before we severA
Fill we one brimming cup it is the lastB
And let those lips now parting and for everA
Breathe o'er this pledge the memory of the pastB
-
Joy's fleeting sun is set and no to morrowC
Smiles on the gloomy path we tread so fastB
Yet in the bitter cup o'erfilled with sorrowC
Lives one sweet drop the memory of the pastB
-
But one more look from those dear eyes now shiningD
Through their warm tears their loveliest and their lastB
But one more strain of hands in friendship twiningD
Now farewell all save memory of the pastB
