Impromptu, Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCDEEFF

Written among the ruins of the SonnenbergA
-
-
Thou who within thyself dost not beholdB
Ruins as great as these though not as oldB
Can'st scarce through life have travelled many a yearC
Or lack'st the spirit of a pilgrim hereD
Youth hath its walls of strength its towers of prideE
Love its warm hearth stones Hope its prospects wideE
Life's fortress in thee held these one and allF
And they have fallen to ruin or shall fallF
