Farewell To Italy. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEEAAFFGGHHIIJJ KKLLMMAANNOA

Farewell awhile beautiful ItalyA
My lonely bark is launched upon the seaA
That clasps thy shore and the soft evening galeB
Breathes from thy coast and fills my parting sailB
Ere morning dawn a colder breeze will comeC
And bear me onward to my northern homeD
That home where the pale sun is not so brightE
So glorious at his noonday's fiercest heightE
As when he throws his last glance o'er the seaA
And fires the heavens that glow farewell on theeA
Fair Italy perchance some future dayF
Upon thy coast again will see me strayF
Meantime farewell I sorrow as I leaveG
Thy lovely shore behind me as men grieveG
When bending o'er a form around whose charmsH
Unconquered yet Death winds his icy armsH
While leaving the last kiss on some dear cheekI
Where beauty sheds her last autumnal streakI
Life's rosy flower just mantling into bloomJ
Before it fades for ever in the tombJ
So I leave thee oh thou art lovely stillK
Despite the clouds of infamy and illK
That gather thickly round thy fading formL
Still glow thy glorious skies as bright and warmL
Still memory lingers fondly on thy strandM
And Genius hails thee still her native landM
Land of my soul's adoption o'er the seaA
Thy sunny shore is fading rapidlyA
Fainter and fainter from my gaze it diesN
'Till like a line of distant light it liesN
A melting boundary 'twixt earth and skyO
And now 'tis gone farewell fair ItalyA
