An Invocation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADDEEFGFHHGIIIJJI IKLKLMJJJNNKK

Spirit bright spirit from thy narrow cellA
Answer me answer me oh let me hearB
Thy voice and know that thou indeed art nearC
That from the bonds in which thou'rt forced to dwellA
Thou hast not broken free thou art not fledD
Thou hast not pined away thou art not deadD
Speak to me through thy prison bars my lifeE
With all things round is one eternal strifeE
'Mid whose wild din I pause to hear thy voiceF
Speak to me look on me thou born of lightG
That I may know thou'rt with me and rejoiceF
Shall not this weary warfare pass awayH
Shall there not come a better brighter dayH
Shall not thy chain and mine be broken quiteG
And thou to heaven springI
With thine immortal wingI
And I still followingI
With steps that do not tireJ
Reach my desireJ
And to thy worship bringI
Some worthy offeringI
Oh let but these dark days be once gone byK
And thou unwilling captive that dost strainL
With tiptoe longing vainly towards the skyK
O'er the whole kingdom of my life shalt reignL
But while I'm doomed beneath the yoke to bowM
Of sordid toiling in these caverns drearJ
Oh look upon me sometimes with thy browJ
Of shining brightness sometimes let me hearJ
Thy blessed voice singing the songs of HeavenN
Whence thou and I together have been drivenN
Give me assurance that thou still art nighK
Lest I sink down beneath my load and dieK
