A Retrospect Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEFGGFHHII

Life wanes and the bright sunlight of our youthA
Sets o'er the mountain tops where once Hope stoodB
Oh Innocence oh Trustfulness oh TruthA
Where are ye all white handed sisterhoodB
Who with me on my way did walk alongC
Singing sweet scraps of that immortal songC
That's hymn'd in Heaven but hath no echo hereD
Are ye departing fellows bright and clearE
Of the young spirit when it first alightsF
Upon this earth of darkness and dismayG
Farewell fair children of th' eternal dayG
Blossoms of that far land where fall no blightsF
Sweet kindred of my exiled soul farewellH
Here I must wander here ye may not dwellH
Back to your home beyond the founts of lightI
I see ye fly and I am wrapt in nightI
