| For their beauty that had blinded me | C |
| And taken my joy and peace away | D |

| I chose to suffer and toil | F |
| To redeem my hidden glory | C |
| To show I'm capable of great deeds | G |

| Look at the face of my suffering | H |
| I toil till I sweat and till till I bleed | I |
| That the pains of my hard work may be revealed | J |
| And depths of my venture solely felt | K |

| My venter revolt in agony and violence | L |
| As I drown in the misery of my fastings | L |
| And through prayers my voice I raise to the heavens | L |
| That my cries may be soothe with good results | L |

| My lips are no stranger to sweat | M |
| Nor my tongue a foreigner to tears | L |
| I patiently wait in good tears and faith | N |
| On Him that never fails | L |

| In due time he smiled upon me | C |
| His countenance that kissed my face | L |
| My works He blessed with proceeds | L |
| That men of goodwill may see it and rejoice | L |

| Indeed I have suffered and toiled | O |
| But truly no hard work is a waste | P |
