Adam Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IAJ ADK

A tree of blood soaks the morningA
where the newborn woman groansB
Her voice leaves glass in the woundC
and on the panes a diagram of boneD
-
The coming light establishes and winsE
white limits of a fable that forgetsF
the tumult of veins in flightG
toward the dim cool of the appleH
-
Adam dreams in the fever of the clayI
of a child who comes gallopingA
through the double pulse of his cheekJ
-
But a dark other Adam is dreamingA
a neuter moon of seedless stoneD
where the child of light will burnK
