The Witness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EFGG HHFF

The Master of the Garden saidA
Who now the Earth seems cold and deadA
Will by his fearless witnessingB
Hold men's hearts for the tardy springB
-
Not yet I am but half awakeC
All drowsily the Primrose spakeC
And fast the sleeping DaffodilsD
Had folded up their golden frillsD
-
Indeed the frail AnemoneE
Said softly 'tis too cold for meF
Wood Hyacinths all deeply setG
Replied No ice has melted yetG
-
When suddenly with smile so brightH
Up sprang a Winter AconiteH
And to the Master joyfullyF
She cried I will the witness beF
