The Long View Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DD EEFF GG

Some day of days Some dawning yet to beA
I shall be clothed with immortalityA
-
And in that day I shall not greatly careB
That Jane spilt candle grease upon the stairB
-
It will not grieve me then as once it didC
That careless hands have chipped my teapot lidC
-
I groan being burdened But in that glad dayD
I shall forget vexations of the wayD
-
That needs were often great when means were smallE
Will not perplex me any more at allE
A few short years at most it may be lessF
I shall have done with earthly storm and stressF
-
So for this day I lay me at Thy feetG
O keep me sweet my Master Keep me sweetG
