In Such An Hour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFF GHGHBB IJKKLLAA

Sometimes when everything goes wrongA
When days are short and nights are longA
When wash day brings so dull a skyB
That not a single thing will dryB
And when the kitchen chimney smokesC
And when there's naught so queer as folksC
When friends deplore my faded youthD
And when the baby cuts a toothD
While John the baby last but oneE
Clings round my skirts till day is doneE
When fat good tempered Jane is glumF
And butcher's man forgets to comeF
-
Sometimes I say on days like theseG
I get a sudden gleam of blissH
Not on some sunny day of easeG
He'll come but on a day like thisH
And in the twinkling of an eyeB
These tiresome things will all go byB
-
And 'tis a curious thing but JaneI
Is sure just then to smile againJ
Or out the truant sun will peepK
And both the babies fall asleepK
The fire burns up with roar sublimeL
And butcher's man is just in timeL
And oh My feeble faith grows strongA
Sometimes when everything goes wrongA
