The Song Of The Brook Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHAH IFJF AHKH LHMH

Oh what would you have you splendid sunA
With your restless eyes of fireB
And why do you lean o'er the lilies paleC
What more can your heart desireB
-
You've crimsoned the rays in the heart of the roseD
You've drunk up the dewdrops allE
And down in the meadows your golden lightF
Has gilded the daisies tallE
-
The thirsty flowers that grow on the hillG
Have given their lives to youH
And what do you care you restless sunA
As you sail through your seas of blueH
-
Your rays are so warm like the glances of loveI
The lily is mad with delightF
And whispers her secret with silent joyJ
As she kisses my face in the nightF
-
What more can you want O eager sunA
I've given my all to youH
I've counted my treasures and claimed them notK
What more can I ever doH
-
But eager sun with your restless raysL
Know this that I love not youH
For the sun that knoweth a world of lovesM
To one can never be trueH
