September Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDED FGHGIJKJ LBMBNLOL

Oh soon the forests all will boastA
A crown of red and goldB
A purple haze will circle roundC
The mountains dim and oldB
Afar the hills now green and fairD
Their sombre robes will wearD
A mist like veil will dim the sunE
And linger on the airD
-
Already seems the earth half sadF
The summer child is deadG
And who can tell the dreams gone byH
The tales of life unsaidG
September is a glowing timeI
A month of happy hoursJ
Yet in its crimson heart lies hidK
The frost that kills the flowersJ
-
Life too may feel the glory nearL
And wear its crown of goldB
Yet are the snows not nearest thenM
Are hearts not growing oldB
September is the prime of lifeN
The glory of the yearL
Yet when the leaves begin to fallO
The winter must be nearL
