Remembrance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Why should we dream of days gone byA
Why should we wait and wonderB
Sweet summer days have come and goneC
The leaves are falling yonderB
-
The wee sweet flowers we loved the bestD
The king of frost has chosenE
And now the sun looks sadly downF
Upon his darlings frozenE
-
Ah summer sun and autumn frostG
You are at war foreverB
For all the ties that one would makeH
The other fain would severB
-
With autumn days remembrance comesI
Of golden glories fleetingJ
Of pleasures gone and sorrows comeK
Of parting and of meetingJ
-
Oh summer days why haunt us stillL
Remembrance is a sorrowM
And all the dreams we dream to dayN
Will fade upon the morrowM
-
Each life has some sweet summer timeO
Some perfect day of beautyP
When flowers of love and leaves of hopeQ
Are twined around each dutyP
-
But oh the autumn time will comeK
Which fades each golden gloryP
And life when we are old and grayN
Seems but a sad old storyP
