Moonlight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEBE BFGF HGBG BBIB BJBJ ABCB

Oh what so subtle as the spellA
The silvery moonlight weavesB
Oh what so sad and what so gladC
And what so soon deceivesB
-
A vision of the long agoD
Long years of pain betweenE
A mocking dream of happier daysB
A veil of silver sheenE
-
A passing gleam of falling starsB
An idle summer's dreamF
The sudden waking of a heartG
Things are not as they seemF
-
Oh silver moon indeed you holdH
The secrets of the heartG
And none can know and none can guessB
The mystery of thy artG
-
A silver length of rippling wavesB
A glance from happy eyesB
A strain of music low and sweetI
The heart in rapture liesB
-
Yet ah how faithless are the vowsB
Made 'neath the summer moonJ
As changing as the falling raysB
That fade away as soonJ
-
For love is like the subtle spellA
The sliver moonlight weavesB
And what so sad and what so gladC
And what so soon deceivesB
