Autumn Flowers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNIN OPFP QRSR ITAT

O crimson tined flowersA
That live when others dieB
What thoughtless hand unlovingC
Could ever pass you byB
-
You are the last bright blossomsD
The summer's after glowE
When all her early childrenF
Have faded long agoE
-
Sweet golden rod and xeniaG
And crimson marigoldH
What dreams of autumn splendorI
Your velvet leaves unfoldH
-
Long long ago the violetsJ
Have closed their sweet blue eyesK
And lain with pale dead facesL
Beneath the summer skiesK
-
And on their graves you blossomM
With leaves of gold and redN
And yet how soon foreverI
Your beauty will be fledN
-
The frost will come to kill youO
The snows will wrap you roundP
And you will sleep forgottenF
Upon the frozen groundP
-
Your tints are like the beautyQ
The sunlight leaves behindR
And deep and full of sadnessS
The thoughts you bring to mindR
-
Dear memories of the summerI
Sweet tokens of the pastT
You are the fairest flowersA
Because you are the lastT
