A Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHFI JKLK MNOP QRSR TCUC

Amid my treasures once I foundA
A simple faded flowerB
A flower with all its beauty fledC
The darling of an hourB
-
With bitterness I gazed awhileD
Then flung it from my sightE
For with it all came back to meF
the pain and heedless blightE
-
But moved with pity and regretG
I took it up againH
For oh so long and wearilyF
In darkness it had lainI
-
Ah purple pansy once I kissedJ
Your dewy petals fairK
For then indeed I had no thoughtL
Of earthly pain or careK
-
Your faded petals now I touchM
With sacred love and aweN
For never will my heart kneel downO
To earthly will or lawP
-
Your velvet beauty still is dearQ
Though faded now you seemR
You drooped and died yet still you areS
The symbol of my dreamR
-
Sweet modest flower tinged with goldT
A lesson you have saidC
Your purple glory like my loveU
Is faded now and deadC
