A Prayer For The Followers Of Ideal Beauty Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBCCBADEDEA

With a pencil sketch of an Angel by BotticelliA
-
-
Thou in whose All no work imperfect standsB
Thou who dost gaze on Beauty's unveiled faceC
Grant to Thy children Thy sustaining graceC
When low at length have run the daylight sandsB
When though their day was set to Thy commandsB
They bow contritely in prayer's holy placeC
Because through strivings beauty wards they traceC
The sad misshapings of their earthly handsB
Grant them at eve a soul devoutly stillA
Grant them in dreams a vision of Thy lightD
Grant them at morn a sorrow purged awayE
Into the peace of all absolving nightD
Star in the dawnlight of a fairer dayE
Nearer the blossom of Thy perfect WillA
