Terre Promise Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCA DEED FCCF

Even now the fragrant darkness of her hairA
Had brushed my cheek and once in passing byB
Her hand upon my hand lay tranquillyC
What things unspoken trembled in the airA
-
Always I know how little severs meD
From mine heart's country that is yet so farE
And must I lean and long across a barE
That half a word would shatter utterlyD
-
Ah might it be that just by touch of handF
Or speaking silence shall the barrier fallC
And she shall pass with no vain words at allC
But droop into mine arms and understandF
