Vanitas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABB CDCDD EFEFF CBCBB CGCGG

Beyond the need of weepingA
Beyond the reach of handsB
May she be quietly sleepingA
In what dim nebulous landsB
Ah she who understandsB
-
The long long winter weatherC
These many years and daysD
Since she and Death togetherC
Left me the wearier waysD
And now these tardy baysD
-
The crown and victor's tokenE
How are they worth to dayF
The one word left unspokenE
It were late now to sayF
But cast the palm awayF
-
For once ah once to meet herC
Drop laurel from tired handsB
Her cypress were the sweeterC
In her oblivious landsB
Haply she understandsB
-
Yet crossed that weary riverC
In some ulterior landG
Or anywhere or everC
Will she stretch out a handG
And will she understandG
