The Three Witches Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF FGFG EDED FFD

All the moon shed nights are overA
And the days of gray and dunB
There is neither may nor cloverA
And the day and night are oneB
-
Not an hamlet not a cityC
Meets our strained and tearless eyesD
In the plain without a pityC
Where the wan grass droops and diesD
-
We shall wander through the meaningE
Of a day and see no lightF
For our lichened arms are leaningE
On the ends of endless nightF
-
We the children of AstarteF
Dear abortions of the moonG
In a gay and silent partyF
We are riding to you soonG
-
Burning ramparts ever burningE
To the flame which never diesD
We are yearning yearning yearningE
With our gay and tearless eyesD
-
In the plain without a pityF
Not an hamlet not a cityF
Where the wan grass droops and diesD
