Growth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABC DEFDEF

I watched the glory of her childhood changeA
Half sorrowful to find the child I knewB
Loved long ago in lily timeC
Become a maid mysterious and strangeA
With fair pure eyes dear eyes but not the eyes I knewB
Of old in the olden timeC
-
Till on my doubting soul the ancient goodD
Of her dear childhood in the new disguiseE
Dawned and I hastened to adoreF
The glory of her waking maidenheadD
And found the old tenderness within her deepening eyesE
But kinder than beforeF
