Total Eclipse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH IJKL EIMN OPQ RNIIS STN

Not wanting to writeA
for fear that anythingB
the passion for the pageC
the love of carbon ribbons erasersD
will distract me from your faceE
from your eyes greenF
as the flickering base of flamesG
your tarnished copper hairH
-
My love is thick as rustI
just as hard to scrape offJ
It glows like the green roofs of parisK
it shines in the sun like dropped penniesL
-
I fix on your faceE
until I am blurred blearedI
until my eyes cannot focusM
all words become oneN
-
Oh let me write you into my lifeO
I am afraid of rust tarnishP
but even more afraid of this gleamQ
-
When my eyes have taken you inR
when my body has eatenN
spat you outI
when my heart remembers to beatI
my fingers remember the penS
-
will I still remember you thenS
boyish slyT
yet a total eclipse of my sunN
