To X. (with Ephemeral Kisses) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHIJK

I hear you will not fall in love with meA
because I come without a guaranteeA
because someday I may depart at whimB
and leave you desolate abandoned grimB
If that's the case what use to be aliveC
In loving life you love what can't surviveC
and if you grow too fond and lose your headD
it's all for nought for someday you'll be deadD
Maintain a cool detachment through the yearsE
Wear blinders dear put cotton in your earsE
Since worms will taste the tongue that tastes the wineF
burst not the grape against your palate fineF
With care your puny heart will still be wholeG
the day they come to fetch your tepid soulG
And as that strumpet Life deals her last blowH
you'll have this final consolatioI
you'll snap your flippant fingers as you fallJ
and say 'I never cared for her at all 'K
