The Perfect Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HIJK FLMN OPPP PFLF

He says he is a perfect poetA
He lives alone with his perfect mateB
sometimes they don't even speakC
So perfectly do they 'communicate 'D
-
He lives alone his greatest pleasures areE
His pipes his books his wife's behindF
Which he will often pinch to hear her laughG
He's got a perfect love for womankindF
-
He seldom writes distrusting language asH
A clumsy tool unequal to his thoughtsI
He uses it as rarely as he canJ
No doubt to punish it for all its faultsK
-
But when he writes he keeps the upper handF
On principle since words are enemiesL
He melts them down then counterfeits his ownM
A kind of literary alchemyN
-
He's fortunate to have a perfect museO
A live in muse who cooks inspiringlyP
And sometimes after an ambrosial mealP
He'll grab his pen composing feverishlyP
-
A perfect poem describing in detailP
The salad wine the roast in buttery basteF
And reading it his musing wife agreesL
That every line smacks of his perfect tasteF
