Statue Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJK LMINIOPQRSI TURIQQQ QVQWQ XXXQYZU

Cement up to the neckA
my head packedB
with unsaid wordsC
A gullet full of pebblesD
a mouthE
of cast concreteF
I am stuckG
in a lovelessness so thickH
it seems my natural elementI
My mouth closesJ
on stonesK
-
Hand frozen to my chinL
my back a question markM
my heart solderedI
to its arteriesN
my feet plantedI
in grass that cannot growO
The Thinker pondersP
ten more years of thisQ
a womanR
living the lifeS
of a statueI
-
Break freeT
Melt the metalU
in love's cauldronR
open doors eyes heartI
those frozen ventriclesQ
those stuck tonguesQ
those stuttering dependenciesQ
-
When the statue walksQ
will the world dissolveV
When she shakes her shouldersQ
will the sky shrugW
skitter off in spaceQ
-
Or will the clouds clusterX
to cover herX
the blue wind gatherX
at her shouldersQ
the men streak byY
like jet trails in the airZ
utterly ephemeralU
