Knives Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFG HIJKLMNO PQRPSJT

The women he has had are all facesA
without eyesB
He has entered them blindC
as a cut wormD
He has swum their oceansE
like a wounded fishF
looking for homeG
-
At nights when he can't sleepH
he dreams of weavingI
backward up that riverJ
where the banksK
are fringed with mouthsL
weedy hairM
grows amid the dark crustsN
of ancient bloodO
-
Tonight he is afraid lonelyP
in a city of meat knivesQ
I would go under his knifeR
move so willinglyP
that his heartS
might turn to butterJ
in his mouthT
