The Sonnet King Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCDDEEFEFD

O Petrarch I am here I bow to theeA
Great king of sonnets thron d long agoB
And lover like as Love enjoineth meA
And miser like enamoured of my woeB
I reckon up my teardrops as they flowB
I would not lose the power to shed a tearC
For all the wealth of Plutus and his reignD
I would not be so base as not complainD
When she I love is absent from my sightE
No not for all the marvels of the nightE
And all the varying splendours of the yearF
Do thou assist me thou that art the lightE
Of all true lovers' souls in all the sphereF
To make a May time of my sorrows slainD
