| And lover like as Love enjoineth me | A |
| And miser like enamoured of my woe | B |
| I reckon up my teardrops as they flow | B |
| I would not lose the power to shed a tear | C |
| For all the wealth of Plutus and his reign | D |
| I would not be so base as not complain | D |
| When she I love is absent from my sight | E |
| No not for all the marvels of the night | E |
| And all the varying splendours of the year | F |

| Of all true lovers' souls in all the sphere | F |
