The Mission Of The Bard Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABABBACDCDDC

He is a seer He wears the wedding ringA
Of Art and Nature and his voice is boldB
He should be quicker than the birds to singA
And fill'd with frenzy like the men of oldB
Who sang their songs for country and for kingA
Nothing should daunt him though the news were toldB
By fiends from Hell He should be swift to holdB
And swift to part with truth as from a springA
He should discourse of war and war's alarmC
And deeds of peace and garlands to be soughtD
And love and lore and death and beauty's charmC
And warlike men subdued by tender thoughtD
And grief dismiss'd and hatred set at noughtD
And Freedom shielded by his strong right armC
