Love's Ambition Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDBCBCCEFFGHF

XI Love's AmbitionA
-
-
I must invoke thee for my spirit's goodB
And prove myself un guilty of the crimeC
Of mere self seeking though with this imbuedD
I sing as sings the mavis in a woodB
Content to be alive at harvest timeC
Had I its wings I should not be withstoodB
But I will weave my fancies into rhymeC
And greet afar the heights I cannot climbC
I will invoke thee Love though far awayE
And pay thee homage as becomes a knightF
Who longs to keep his true love in his sightF
Yea I will soar to thee in roundelayG
In shine and shower and make a bold assayH
Of each fond hope to compass thee arightF
