Diffidence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAABBCBDEEDDE

I cannot deck my thought in proud attireA
Or make it fit for thee in any dressB
Or sing to thee the songs of thy desireA
In summer's heat or by the winter's fireA
Or give thee cause to comfort or to blessB
For I have scann'd mine own unworthinessB
And well I know the weakness of the lyreC
Which I have striven to sway to thy caressB
Yet must I quell my tears and calm the smartD
Of my vext soul and steadfastly emergeE
From lonesome thoughts as from the tempest's surgeE
I must control the beating of my heartD
And bid false pride be gone who with his artD
Has press'd too long a suit I dare not urgeE
