Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCCBBCCDDCDC

DeathA
-
-
It is the joy it is the zest of lifeB
To know that Death ungainly to the vileC
Is not a traitor with a reckless knifeB
And not a serpent with a look of guileC
But one who greets us with a seraph's smileC
An angel guest to tend us after strifeB
And keep us true to God when fears are rifeB
And sceptic thought would daunt us or defileC
He walks the world as one empower'd to fillC
The fields of space for Father and for SonD
He is our friend though morbidly we shunD
His tender touch a cure for every illC
He is the king of peace when all is doneD
Earth and the air are moulded to his willC
