Venus Of The Louvre Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAABBADEDFGG

Down the long hall she glistens like a starA
The foam born mother of Love transfixed to stoneB
Yet none the less immortal breathing onC
Time's brutal hand hath maimed but could not marA
When first the enthralled enchantress from afarA
Dazzled mine eyes I saw not her aloneB
Serenely poised on her world worshipped throneB
As when she guided once her dove drawn carA
But at her feet a pale death stricken JewD
Her life adorer sobbed farewell to loveE
Here Heine wept Here still we weeps anewD
Nor ever shall his shadow lift or moveF
While mourns one ardent heart one poet brainG
For vanished Hellas and Hebraic painG
