To The West Wind Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGFHIJDJD

O West how fragrant breathes thy gentle airA
Spikenard and aloes on thy pinions glideB
Thou blow'st from spicy chambers not from thereA
Where angry winds and tempests fierce abideB
As on a bird's wings thou dost waft me homeC
Sweet as a bundle of rich myrrh to meD
And after thee yearn all the throngs that roamC
And furrow with light keel the rolling seaD
Desert her not our ship bide with her oftE
When the day sinks and in the morning lightF
Smooth thou the deeps and make the billows softG
Nor rest save at our goal the sacred heightF
Chide thou the East that chafes the raging floodH
And swells the towering surges wild and rudeI
What can I do the elements' poor slaveJ
Now do they hold me fast now leave me freeD
Cling to the Lord my soul for He will saveJ
Who caused the mountains and the winds to beD
