Symphonic Studies: Prelude Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBDCCEBEBFF

After Robert SchumannA
-
-
Blue storm clouds in hot heavens of mid JulyB
Hung heavy brooding over land and seaC
Our hearts a tremble throbbed in harmonyC
With the wild restless tone of air and skyB
Shall we not call him Prospero who heldD
In his enchanted hands the fateful keyC
Of that tempestuous hour's mysteryC
And with him to wander by a sun bright shoreE
To hear fine fairy voices and to flyB
With disembodied Ariel once moreE
Above earth's wrack and ruin Far and nighB
The laughter of the thunder echoed loudF
And harmless lightnings leapt from cloud to cloudF
