| Deep deep below the burning billows rolled | D |
| And all the sea sang like a smitten lyre | E |
| Oh the wild voices of those chanting waves | F |
| The human faces glimpsed beneath the tide | G |
| Familiar eyes gazed from profound sea caves | F |
| And we exalted were as we had died | G |
| We knew the sea was Life the harmonious cry | H |
| The blended discords of humanity | B |
