Stanzas. (translations From The Hebrew Poets Of Medaeval Spain.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHHII JJKKLL M

With tears thy grief thou dost bemoanA
Tears that would melt the hardest stoneA
Oh wherefore sing'st thou not the vineB
Why chant'st thou not the praise of wineB
It chases pain with cunning artC
The craven slinks from out thy heartC
-
-
But I Poor fools the wine may cheatD
Lull them with lying visions sweetD
Upon the wings of storms may bearE
The heavy burden of their careE
The father's heart may harden soF
He feeleth not his own child's woeF
-
-
No ocean is the cup no seaG
To drown my broad deep miseryG
It grows so rank you cut it allH
The aftermath springs just as tallH
My heart and flesh are worn awayI
Mine eyes are darkened from the dayI
-
-
The lovely morning red beholdJ
Wave to the breeze her flag of goldJ
The hosts of stars above the worldK
Like banners vanishing are furledK
The dew shines bright I bide forlornL
And shudder with the chill of mornL
