What art thou doing here O Imagination GoA
away I entreat thee by the gods as thou didstB
come for I want thee not But thou art comeC
according to thy old fashion I am not angryD
with thee only go awayE
Marcus AntoninusF

-
Lilac hazes veil the skiesF
Languid sighsF
Breathes the mild caressing airG
Pink as coral's branching spraysF
Orchard waysF
With the blossomed peach are fairG
-
Sunshine cordial as a kissF
Poureth blissF
In this craving soul of mineH
And my heart her flower cupI
Lifteth upI
Thirsting for the draught divineH
-
Swift the liquid golden flameJ
Through my frameJ
Sets my throbbing veins afireK
Bright alluring dreams ariseF
Brim mine eyesF
With the tears of strong desireL
-
All familiar scenes anearL
DisappearL
Homestead orchard field and woldB
Moorish spires and turrets fairL
Cleave the airL
Arabesqued on skies of goldB
-
Low my spirit this May mornM
Outward borneM
Over seas hath taken wingN
Where the mediaeval townO
Like a crownO
Wears the garland of the SpringN
-
Light and sound and odors sweetB
Fill the streetB
Gypsy girls are selling flowersF
Lean hidalgos turn asideB
Amorous eyedB
'Neath the grim cathedral towersF
-
Oh to be in Spain to dayE
Where the MayE
Recks no whit of good or evilP
Love and only love breathes sheD
Oh to beD
'Midst the olive rows of SevilleQ
-
Or on such a day to glideB
With the tideB
Of the berylline lagoonR
Through the streets that mirror heavenS
Crystal pavenS
In the warm Venetian noonS
-
At the prow the gondolierL
May not hearL
May not see our furtive kissF
But he lends with cadenced strainS
The refrainS
To our ripe and silent blissF
-
Golden shadows silver lightB
Burnish brightB
Air and water domes and skiesF
As in some ambrosial dreamT
On the streamT
Floats our bark in magic wiseF
-
Oh to float day long just soF
Naught to knowF
Of the trouble toil and fretB
This is love and this is MayE
YesterdayE
And to morrow to forgetB
-
Whither hast thou Fancy freeD
Guided meD
Wild Bohemian sister dearL
All thy gypsy soul is stirredB
Since yon birdB
Warbled that the Spring was hereL
-
Tempt no more I may not followF
Like the swallowF
Gayly on the track of SpringN
Bounden by an iron fateB
I must waitB
Dream and wonder yearn and singN
