Peace Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCC DEDEFF GHGHIJK

The calm outgoing of a long rich dayA
Checkered with storm and sunshine gloom and lightB
Now passing in pure cloudless skies awayA
Withdrawing into silence of blank nightB
Thick shadows settle on the landscape brightB
Like the weird cloud of death that falls apaceC
On the still features of the passive faceC
-
Soothing and gentle as a mother's kissD
The touch that stopped the beating of the heartE
A look so blissfully serene as thisD
Not all the joy of living could impartE
With dauntless faith and courage therewithalF
The Master found her ready at his callF
-
On such a golden evening forth there floatsG
Between the grave earth and the glowing skyH
In the clear air unvexed with hazy motesG
The mystic winged and flickering butterflyH
A human soul that drifts at libertyI
Ah who can tell to what strange paradiseJ
To what undreamed of fields and lofty skiesK
