In Vita: Cix Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEDEDE

The God of Love and I in wonder staredA
Ne'er having gazed on miracles ere nowB
Upon my lady's smiling lips and browB
Who only with herself may be comparedA
Neath the calm beauty of her forehead baredA
Those twin stars of my love did burn and flowC
No lesser lamps again the path might showC
To the proud lover who by these had faredA
Oh miracle when on the grass at restD
Herself a flower she would clasp and holdE
A leafy branch against her snow white breastD
What joy to see her in the autumn coldE
Wander alone with maiden thoughts possess'dD
Weaving a garland of dry crispy goldE
