Faith Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII

She feels outwearied as though o'er her headA
A storm of mighty billows broke and passedB
Whose hand upheld her Who her footsteps ledA
To this green haven of sweet rest at lastB
What strength was hers unreckoned and unknownC
What love sustained when she was most aloneC
-
Unutterably pathetic her desireD
To reach with groping arms outstretched in prayerE
Something to cling to to uplift her higherD
From this low world of coward fear and careE
Above disaster that her will may beF
At one with God's accepting his decreeF
-
Though by no reasons she be justifiedG
Yet strangely brave in Evil's very faceH
She deems this want must needs be satisfiedG
Though here all slips from out her weak embraceH
And in blind ecstasy of perfect faithI
With her own dream her prayer she answerethI
