Acceptance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC AAAADD EFEFCC

Yea she hath looked Truth grimly face to faceA
And drained unto the lees the proffered cupB
This silence is not patience nor the graceA
Of recognition meekly offered upB
But mere acceptance fraught with keenest painC
Seeing that all her struggles must be vainC
-
Her future clear and terrible outliesA
This burden to be borne through all her daysA
This crown of thorns pressed down above her eyesA
This weight of trouble she may never raiseA
No reconcilement doth she ask nor waitD
Knowing such things are she endures her fateD
-
No brave endeavor of the broken willE
To cling to such poor stays as will abideF
Although the waves be wild and angry stillE
After the lapsing of the swollen tideF
No fear of further loss no hope of gainC
Naught but the apathy of weary painC
