Oh, For The Time When I Shall Sleep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGBGB HIHJ

Oh for the time when I shall sleepA
Without identityB
And never care how rain may steepA
Or snow may cover meB
No promised heaven these wild desiresC
Could all or half fulfulD
No threatened hell with quenchless firesC
Subdue this quenchless willD
-
So said I and still say the sameE
Still to my death will sayF
Three gods within this little frameE
Are warring night and dayF
Heaven could not hold them all and yetG
They all are held in meB
And must be mine till I forgetG
My present entityB
-
Oh for the time when in my breastH
Their struggles will be o'erI
Oh for the day when I shall restH
And never suffer moreJ
