"a Little While, A Little While..." Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

A little while a little whileA
The weary task is put awayB
And I can sing and I can smileA
Alike while I have holidayB
-
Why wilt thou go my harassed heartC
What thought what scene invites thee nowD
What spot or near or farE
Has rest for thee my weary browD
-
There is a spot mid barren hillsF
Where winter howls and driving rainG
But if the dreary tempest chillsF
There is a light that warms againH
-
The house is old the trees are bareI
Moonless above bends twilight's domeJ
But what on earth is half so dearK
So longed for as the hearth of homeJ
-
The mute bird sitting on the stoneL
The dank moss dripping from the wallM
The thorn trees gaunt the walks o'ergrownL
I love them how I love them allM
-
Still as I mused the naked roomN
The alien firelight died awayB
And from the midst of cheerless gloomN
I passed to bright unclouded dayB
-
A little and a lone green laneL
That opened on a common wideO
A distant dreamy dim blue chainL
Of mountains circling every sideO
-
A heaven so clear an earth so calmP
So sweet so soft so hushed an airI
And deepening still the dream like charmQ
Wild moor sheep feeding everywhereI
-
That was the scene I knew it wellR
I knew the turfy pathway's sweepS
That winding o'er each billowy swellR
Marked out the tracks of wandering sheepS
-
Could I have lingered but an hourT
It well had paid a week of toilU
But Truth has banished Fancy's powerT
Restraint and heavy task recoilU
-
Even as I stood with raptured eyeV
Absorbed in bliss so deep and dearK
My hour of rest had fleeted byV
And back came labour bondage careI
